Getting started
Open the app and start practicing right away — no account required to try it. Your work is saved locally as a guest; create a free account whenever you want it backed up and synced across your devices.
To add your first song, open the Add song box and search YouTube by title or paste a YouTube link. Loooper saves the video to your library so it's one tap away next time.
Your library
Your library is the home for every song you're working on. From the Library tab you can:
- Add songs from YouTube search or a pasted link.
- Search your library and jump straight to a song.
- Reorder — drag songs into the order you want, or sort A–Z or by date added. Your choice is saved and follows you across devices.
- Set a status on each song (Listening, Learning, and more) so you can see at a glance where it stands.
- Song menu — rename, add to a set, share, or delete from each song's menu.
Loops
Loops are the heart of Loooper — the exact passages you want to drill, saved and replayable in one tap.
- Drop two flags — tap the start flag where a passage begins, then the finish flag where it ends. The loop saves automatically and starts playing.
- Play & repeat — each saved loop has a play/stop button and repeats hands-free. A thin progress bar ping-pongs along the loop so you can feel the cycle.
- Rename inline — click a loop's name to rename it; press Enter to save.
- See the range — every loop shows its start → end time and current speed.
- Track mastery — mark each loop New, Learning, Getting Cleaner, Ready, or Mastered as it improves.
- Reorder & sort — drag loops manually, or sort by creation or start time. The mode is saved per song.
- Color-coded — each loop gets its own color on the waveform and in the list so they're easy to tell apart.
Playback speed
Slow tricky passages down without changing pitch beyond YouTube's range. Use the −/+ stepper to nudge speed in precise 0.05× steps, and tap reset to jump back to 1× instantly. Each loop remembers its own speed, so a fast run can stay slow while the rest plays at full tempo.
Notes & practice tracking
Every song has a notes area for arrangement notes, cues, lyrics, reminders, and tags — so you return to a song without starting your thinking over.
Loooper also tracks your practice automatically:
- Practice history heatmap — a GitHub-style calendar of your practice by song and day.
- Per-loop time — see how long you've spent on each loop and build daily streaks.
- Day notes — click any day in the heatmap to read the notes you logged that session.
Sets
Sets group songs together — a gig set list, a lesson plan, or a theme you're working through. Add a song to a set from its menu, or spin up a new set straight from a song.
Arrange songs in a set in any order — manually, alphabetically, or by date added. The order you choose is saved and carries over to everyone you share the set with, both in the app and through shared links.
Following
Follow other musicians to see what they're practicing and discover new music and approaches. When someone you follow shares a new song or set, the Library tab flags it with a badge so you never miss it.
Offline & install
Loooper can install from supported desktop, Android, and iPhone browsers for a full-screen, app-like experience. On iPhone, open Loooper in Safari, tap Share, then choose Add to Home Screen. Your library is cached on your device, so it loads quickly and keeps working when your connection drops. (Playing YouTube audio still needs a connection.) If you open a shared link while offline, Loooper tells you to reconnect and reopens it once you're back online.
Plans & limits
The free tier includes 20 songs and 3 sets, plus unlimited loops, notes, practice history, and set sharing & importing. When your library outgrows that, Pro unlocks unlimited songs and sets for $7.99/month or $69/year. See the pricing page for details and to upgrade.
